Humbled by Watchingh the London Marathon
I want to write this because watching the London marathon was a humbling experience for me.
The fastest of the two runners in the marathon ran it in under 2 hours.
Under 2 hours.
Yes. Can you believe that?
I struggle to run a 10k in an hour.
And there were two humans who ran the full marathon under 2 hours.
And it was the first official marathon for one of them.
Another thing that I found surprising and humbled me is the sheer number of people running to finish under 3 hours.
My mind was just blown away.
It also made me realize that I need to work on my fitness.
Barely able to run a 10k in 1 hour does not seems remotely the best i can potentially do.
There seems to be a significant room for improvment.
I also realized my own mental model on how fit I was was deeply exaggerated.
